Napa River Exploration

Overview

Discover the northern reach of the San Pablo Bay, where salt and freshwater meet on the Napa River. This adventure spans the largest distance of the Napa River with our knowledgeable guides. Our team will teach your guests the basics of paddling and water safety before launch. Together you hit the water to paddle through restored salt water wetlands, historic downtown Napa, the Oxbow Preserve and up into the fresh water forest of the Oak Knoll AVA, the most northern reach of the San Pablo Bay. As one of the most biologically diverse regions in the San Francisco Bay Area, paddlers may see river otters, turtles and a variety of birds on this leisurely round-trip, two hour paddle. Our guide will discuss the ecological history of the Napa River past and present and paddlers will learn about it's rich habitat and wildlife.

Addon Paddle Picnic
If you wish to add-on a Paddle Picnic, we can arrange these for you to be enjoyed along the river mid-paddle. They consist of a sandwich, seasonal salad, fresh fruit and non-alcoholic beverages, all made from locally sourced organic ingredients. Add 30 minutes to above paddle itinierary.

Carneros Nature Preserve

Overview

Six miles of twists and turns through the Carneros Nature Preserve - Hudeman Slough. Spanning both Napa and Sonoma Counties this tour brings you eye to eye with American White Pelicans, Redtail Hawks and birds of the Pacific Flyway. Set to a champagne vineyard backdrop and accessible only by water, paddlers glide on the ebb and flow of San Pablo Bay with Mt. Tamalpais and Mt. Diablo looming large on the horizon.

As you emerge from tailwaters the ebb throttles back to the sound of swallows - you are unplugged- and awakened by the rhythm of your paddle breaking surface of protected water
